Why did we create this programme?

Hi! 👋

My name is Ryan, creator of Larsen Architecture and this Career Accelerator Programme.

I am a practicing Chartered Architect and a Registered Interior Designer.

As someone who has come through the full design education system, I have always felt that there a standard, pre-determined career path that we are obliged to take, which results in a lack of individuality and creativity - something that we should be promoting within the design industry!

This 'one-size-fits-all' approach to design education leads to makes it difficult for people to stand out, to follow their passions and to get jobs. Meaning that young designers are left feeling undervalued and severely underpaid, especially compared to equally qualified students in other industries.

This is something that we are trying to tackle and is why we have created this programme. You should be able to carve your own career path, design your own future and get paid for it.

Insights Discovery is a psychometric tool that helps you understand yourself, your communication style, and your work preferences.

Insights Discovery will also provide you with the resources you need to understand how others like to communicate and work, hence giving you a competitive advantage when it comes to effectively selling your brand, dealing with clients, or working with colleagues.

We use Insights Discovery ourselves to help us understand each other as a team, as well as understand our clients' communication and work preferences.

Insights Discovery can give you a competitive advantage when it comes to effectively selling your brand to achieve whichever goals you have set for yourself and your business.

Let’s break down the concept even further. Insights Discovery is a (1) psychometric (2) tool that helps you (3) understand and improve communication.

(1) Psychometric: related to personality. Your brand is highly linked to your personality. Your brand IS a personality in itself. You utilise this personality to attract clients who either have that personality style, or see it as a goal.
(2) Tool: anything that helps you achieve a specific outcome. Whatever your reason for joining the programme (e.g. reaching clients, changing industries, getting a better job, making more sales…), Insights Discovery can help you. We will show you how to utilise it to reach your goals.
(3) Understand and improve communication: the ultimate goal of any professional. Our programme is focussed on helping you improve how you communicate with your clients, colleagues or employers. Once you understand your communication style, you will have the resources necessary to understand everyone else.

Your personal brand is an extension of you and how you communicate, it sets the expectations for people to understand how you approach tasks. Your professional brand does the same, but for your business persona instead.

A personalised foundational module of Insights discovery is included in our One-To-One Professional Development Programme for each designer that is entering the programme. You will receive all required training and guidance to help you navigate it.

Insights Discovery is a modular tool. This means that it expands as you develop, and you can add modules, or “chapters”, as you advance as a professional.

Whilst you do not need any more than the foundational module to understand yourself and others, you may decide that a specific chapter (such as sales or leadership) could be beneficial to you and your specific circumstances. In that case, you can request to purchase further modules.

Each individual that joins the One-To-One Professional Development Programme receives an Insights Discovery profile as well as training and guidance on how to utilise it to its full potential.

We can also work with you to create a curated plan that works for you, your business, and your team. This curated programme can include extra modules of the profile, as well as bespoke training sessions online or in person.
