We are a dynamic team of professionals with experience across a range of disciplines who are passionate about creating meaningful opportunities for young architects and students around the world.

Our focus is on sustainability, innovation, and education, and we work tirelessly to provide the most exciting and challenging international architecture competitions, workshops, and awards in the industry.

How can humans occupy spaces that inspire harmony with the natural environment? What can we, as designers, do to accomplish this and create architecture that avoids destruction of the natural world while also benefiting our environmental impact?

We believe that architecture is more than just a building; it is a way to connect people and places, to inspire creativity and innovation, and to foster a more sustainable future for generations to come.

With this in mind, we strive to create opportunities for young architects to showcase their skills, learn from industry leaders, and make a real difference in the world.

Our international competitions and workshops are designed to challenge and inspire participants, and to provide real-world experience in a supportive and collaborative environment. And our prestigious architecture awards recognize the best and brightest young architects and professionals who are making a real impact in the industry.

Universities and schools can integrate our competitions, awards and workshops into any curriculum. We have briefs that suit every interest and skill level to allow for a complete and varied design experience.

In practice, feedback from students is that they miss the freedom and creativity from university projects when working in practice. Our competitions can be carried out in and around practice hours and focus on real world sustainability and conservation issues. They offer a complex design challenge and opportunity for creative and innovative ideas, without the limit or constraint of time and budget.

Entry into the competitions can be offered as a student/employee benefit and a chance to take part in something outside of the normal day to day running of a practice.

Students will be given the opportunity to work with international architects and designers on unique topics that will shape their future careers and offer opportunities for travel, cash prizes and international recognition.

We are an environmentally conscious company and use our position to promote environmentally conscious design. Our work is powered by 100% green, renewable electricity and we focus on minimising waste, using sustainably sourced materials, and have an environmentally friendly approach to packaging where possible.

We also pledged to plant a tree for every order we receive, and we regularly plant trees to offset our emissions.

Our international work is entirely digital and is powered by 100% renewable electricity. We also we ensure that trees are planted to offset any carbon that is produced by our website.

Carbon offsetting

We see to it that one tree is planted for every purchase on our website and 100 trees are planted for each competition winner. Wherever possible we offset any flights that we take to carry out our international work.

We use environmentally conscious, sustainable and ethical products in our studio and favour companies that consider the environmental impact of their packaging.

Supporting small and local businesses

When we select a site, we consider how our work can have a positive impact by increasing awareness of these incredible places to attract tourism and help the local businesses that surround the area, following the difficult times that we have all faced over the past two years.

An audience of over 3.8 million students, architects, designers and environmentalists across more than 100 countries with 500+ sustainability focused projects.

Our first sustainability driven competition, launched in 2021, has been a great success with recognition from The Architects' Journal and the Architectural Review. It was an insight into the creative minds of current and future designers and was almost a research project for us that has inspired and informed our next projects. Since then, our audience and our reach has grown dramatically.

At Larsen Liverpool, we are committed to using our international platform and this growing audience to creating a more sustainable future through innovative design and education.
